What is the start time of the race?
- Full Marathon Start Time – 8.00am
- Half Marathon Start Time – 10.30am
- 10km Start Time – 11.45am

Where is the start of the race?
There will be 2 separate start lines all in the Quay area – 1 for the 10km & Half Marathon and 1 for the Full Marathon
Each event will finish at The Westport Boat Park, The Quay – F28 V3Y8

How do I enter?

Do I need a qualifying time to run?
No Qualifying time is required in 2024
What is the entry fee?
The entry Fees are as follows:
Marathon & Half Marathon €59
10km €39
Each entry is subject to postal registration of €1.95 per entry.

Is This a Timed Event?
Each race is timed. All results will be posted online.
What happens when I enter on-line?
Your credit card details will be taken and debited for the entry fee amount You will receive an e-mail confirming your entry for the event.

What should I do if I am ill or injured before the race?
You must be fit and well to run a marathon. Severe exertion during or soon after any kind of fever is extremely dangerous. If you find yourself in this situation you must withdraw – even if this is the first time you are running the event.
Do I get a refund or deferment if I can’t run?
There are no refunds on entries.
Can I transfer between events
Please note there is no transfer of entry from 10KM to Full or Half Marathon.
Can I transfer my number if I can’t run?
You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. You may not transfer your application to the following year.
Where do I pick up my RACE / BIB number (Race Pack)? .
Westport Marathon operates a postal registration so all race numbers & information will be posted out.
Where on the race (bib) number do I include medical information?
On the back of your race (bib) please put any important medical information and a contact number in case of emergencies.
What water will be on the route?
Water will be provided at specified locations on the route which will be highlighted on the route map.
Can my Family Cross the finish line with me?
Sorry NO non-competitor (children, partner etc) allowed to enter the course or cross the finish line with you. Failure to comply may lead to disqualification.
What are the markers on the route?
Markers will be at each mile on the Route and every 5KM will also be marked.
Will the Road be Closed to Traffic?
Some roads will be fully closed but we will be operating on open roads
Are there Pacers
Yes
Swapping / selling Race Numbers
Selling or swapping / attempting to sell or swap race numbers will result in the number being cancelled.
Can I use a Water Pack / Vest
All hydration packs or equipment will be subject to detailed search and examination at the point of entry to the start zone. Packs for Medical needs will be allowed, subject to inspection.
Is it possible to Register on the Day of the event:
We will have limited numbers of entries available on the day. Please contact us on info@westportmarathon.ie
What age do you have to be to take part in the Westport Marathon Events:
All competitors must be over 18 years
Can you wear headphones while on the route?
For health & safety reasons competitors cannot wear headphones as routes are operating on open roads.
A bag drop facility will be available in a Marquee at The Towers Bar & Restaurant. ( F28V650 )
This location is within walking distance from the 3 start lines and the finish line.
Is there a bag drop?
A bag drop facility will be available in the Westport Boat Park at the finish line from 7.00am until 3pm only! (F28 V3Y8 )

- The participant must drop & collect their bag themselves.
- Please ensure that the bag tag that you received with your race number is affixed to your bag before you arrive at Bag Drop.
- You must have your race number with you when collecting your bag otherwise it will not be returned.
- No large items will be accepted.
- No valuable items (phones, earphones, jewellery) will be accepted at bag drop.
- Clothing will be left in an open marquee, so it is your responsibility to make sure it is in a plastic bag.
- Items left at owners risk.
- After 3pm your belongings will be available from The Westport Coast Hotel. ( F28V3Y8 ). We can’t guarantee the safety of your belongings after 3pm! Anything not collected from the Westport Coast Hotel on Saturday will be donated to charity
